Krispy Kreme turns classic ice cream truck treats into donuts.

On Monday, the Charlotte-based chain launched three new donuts inspired by classic ice cream truck flavors.

The new creations include a Popsicle firecracker-inspired glazed donut, which is dipped in blue raspberry sugar and topped with flavored cream.

Another is inspired by Good Humor’s Vanilla King Cone. The donut is filled with vanilla pastry cream and dipped in chocolate frosting, topped with sugar cone pieces and chopped peanuts, and drizzled with chocolate frosting.

The latest takes a page from Good Humor’s famous Creamsicle and is filled with vanilla cream, topped with two types of frosting, and finished with mini sprinkles.

Krispy Kreme has also launched a new cooler inspired by Creamsicle, an iced drink made with a Frappe and orange flavor.

These items are available for a limited time at participating stores.

“Should a donut really taste like a Creamsicle?” Yes. Yes, it should,” said Dave Skena, Global Brand Director of Krispy Kreme, in a statement. “And we didn’t stop there because we donutted some of America’s favorite frozen treats this summer.”

These ice cream-inspired donuts come at a time of aggressive Krispy Kreme marketing campaigns. To celebrate the company’s 85th anniversary, the chain announced that it will be giving random customers a birthday card to redeem for a dozen glazed donuts every month through next June. Additionally, the company recently launched donut-inspired ice cream with its Original Glazed Soft Serve.

The company said these attention-grabbing products, including its Twix-stuffed donut, often drive sales.
