– From breakfast indulgences to birthday parties and other celebratory events, this Mebane staple has run through my family.

T. DiStefano’s Bakery & Coffee Shop is the first name mentioned when desserts are needed but no one wants to bake.

Items we enjoyed were Strawberry Cheesecake Pies (see this fun Instagram reel), Muffins (Blueberry, Pumpkin Bran), Coconut Cream Pie, Apple Chips, Donuts , apple fritters and cakes.

I have no complaints yet and my family agrees.

Something I hadn’t tried until recently was their cafe, and I hadn’t eaten inside. It turned out to be a refreshing stopover with my daughters before going to homework. The timing was also perfect for my afternoon caffeine boost. A little coffee is how I prepare for the rest of the day.

I think many others have had the same idea. We watched people come in and out constantly. Items were disappearing from the shelves by the minute. I vividly remember two teenagers jumping through doors!

I’m telling you… it’s a good place to be.

While dining inside, I took a closer look to track down the tempting treats. Check out the pictures. And be warned… if you have a sweet tooth, watching them can cause food cravings.

During this visit we decided to try something new for us. I bought an apple-cinnamon danish. My girls ate chocolate cupcakes.

My family is still hesitant to dine at many places, but a great aspect of T. Distefano is their drive-thru option. Whether you’re taking a quick break from work, running errands around town, or grabbing a box of donuts just for fun, it can be done from the comfort of your driver’s seat. I like this.

Another thing to love is the hospitality and friendliness of the owners and employees. It is extremely important to me. I won’t spend money on a place that treats me badly. Luckily, that’s something I never experienced at T. DiStefano. During the short time we visited, I chatted with them about everything from baked goods to treatments and RV trips. I felt like a valued customer.

Besides having great products, I’m sure that’s why the bakery is so successful. If you’ve never been there, I urge you to take the time to visit. Well worth the trip and the money.

And speaking of costs, everything is reasonably priced in my opinion. Check it out and judge for yourself. Any reason to bring you in.

T. DiStefano’s bakery and cafe is located at 214 Fieldale Road in Mebane.
