GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Tastefull Vegan Frozen Desserts will open a standalone dessert shop in Wyoming. The store at 2265 Porter Street Southwest will open Monday, May 30 at noon.

Tastefull Vegan Frozen Desserts will offer frozen ice cream, frozen dessert bars and soft desserts. Products will be free of dairy, tree nuts, soy, gluten, eggs and refined sugar. The company also uses Michigan maple syrup, coconut, or a fruit base for most of its products. “Whether dietary restriction is by choice or necessity, no allergy or food choice should prevent anyone from enjoying one of life’s greatest pleasures: ice cream! said owner Kalene McElveen.

McElveen started the business in 2020 as a tenant of the Grand Rapids Downtown Market incubator kitchen. In the spring of 2021, she launched her first products at the Fulton Street Farmers Market. Its products are also available at local grocery stores, including Harvest Health, Forest Hills Foods, Bride Street Market and Spun Sugar Detroit. The Wyoming store will be the first woman-owned non-dairy frozen dessert store in Michigan.
