Aldi launched a new frozen donut product and it was very well received by customers.

To celebrate National Donut Week, the bargain giant is now selling Gianni’s donut ice cream.

The product consists of doughnut-shaped vanilla ice cream rings topped with sprinkles and comes in milk chocolate and white chocolate varieties.

The frozen donuts cost £2.29 for a box of four, which contains two of each flavour.

Taking to Facebook to share news of its new dessert, Aldi wrote: “What #NationalDoughnutWeek says like our new ice cream donuts. Grab yours in store now!”

Since going live on Wednesday, the post has received over 1,100 likes and over 830 comments from loyal fans giving their verdict.

One revealed, “Oooooo, I’m going to get them!”

“Yum yum,” wrote a second.

A third said: ‘Those packaging colors remind me of Krispy Kreme’.

A fourth exclaimed: “They even have vermicelli!”

“OMG Aldi you are not helping my diet here,” joked a fifth.

A seventh agreed: “Love the look of those.”

An eighth commented: ‘Kids would lose their minds over this… And by kids I mean me.’

“They look lovely, no wonder I’m plump instead of thin,” echoed a ninth.

Others weren’t as sold on the new product, with one Facebook user saying, “It still looks like boring vanilla in the middle.”
