The Los Angeles-based chain, Mochinut, opened its first store in San Antonio over the weekend, offering chewy Korean-style donuts near Clark High School.
The snack bar, located at 5222 De Zavala Road, had a smooth opening on Friday August 20, serving raspberry, coffee, guava, matcha, banana and ube – or purple yam mash – one of her Instagram-worthy donuts.
Made with glutinous rice flour, the fried treats feature a unique sparkling shape with a light, crisp exterior and a soft, chewy interior.
While the 20-store chain is best known for its sweet pastries, it also offers Korean hot dogs coated in rice flour. The San Antonio store doesn’t offer savory snacks yet, but according to an Instagram post, hot dogs will make an appearance in the future.
The San Antonio Mochinut is open daily from noon to 7 p.m., according to Google.
