The traveling popsicle vendor travels between Latin food court La Cosecha and DC farmers’ markets, offering Mexican-style paletas and hot pink shaved ice from the cart. The popsicles include sunny pineapple, turmeric latte, and even a drizzled papaya option.

Green tea is all on the menu at the Matcha Boutique, which opened a stall this spring in the Block Food Hall in North Bethesda. The sweet spot swirls milk and matcha ice cream for an aesthetic and refreshing treat. You can also order each flavor in a solo swirl.

Ice cream is brewed in-house at Elias Taddesse’s Ethiopian-influenced burger restaurant in the Mount Vernon Triangle. The chef gets creative with flavors like toast (actually made from toast), mixing the frozen dessert with thick milkshakes inspired by peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

The Roost’s retro custard shop offers nostalgia in the form of soda floats and cream sundaes topped with cherries. Order from the menu or make your own way with your choice of sweet sauces and crunchy toppings.

Head to Union Market for cups of refreshing Italian ice cream with fruit flavors like cherry, passion fruit, mango and green apple. The ice cream stand also doubles as a candy stop to pair melt-in-the-mouth concoctions with pineapple rings and mango and chili jelly candies.
