One of this misinformation that goes around is avoiding frozen desserts or ice cream. But the WHO (World Health Organization) has clarified that no type of ice cream or frozen food can spread the virus and there is no scientific evidence to back that claim.

The official press announcement from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearly states that there is no report of the spread of the virus through food and food packaging. Avoid all this falsified information, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), India’s food safety regulator, has clarified that ice cream, frozen foods and foods served cold / chilled do not spread the coronavirus. .

Any information regarding the spread, cure or prevention of the virus should be verified for authenticity. It is very important to maintain hygienic practices for the preparation, storage and handling of food. Numerous newspapers have published articles debunking the myths about eating frozen foods and the spread of the coronavirus.

The Indian Association of Ice Cream Makers (IICMA) is asking people not to fall prey to the misinformation and to happily consume their favorite flavors of ice cream in this scorching summer as always. These frozen desserts will surely brighten the mood and make people happy in these difficult times.

IICMA urges everyone to maintain hygiene, wash their hands often, wear a mask when traveling in crowded places, eat balanced foods, exercise and, most importantly, to absorb information only from reliable sources.
