Ben & Jerry’s has launched a whole new line of “dairy free frozen desserts” made from sunflower seeds.
While the ice cream brand’s previous non-dairy offerings were based on almond milk, it experimented with sunflower butter for the new line.
The new line includes three flavors: Milk & Cookie, Creme Brulee & Mint Chocolate Cookie and is just as thick, creamy and flavorful as any of B & J’s other pints.
“Plant-based diets are one of the biggest trends in the world and ice cream lovers around the world have been clamoring for non-dairy / vegan options that reach the levels of Ben & Jerry’s euphoric genius,” he said. CEO Matthew McCarthy said in a statement.
“I am delighted that our Flavor Gurus have produced something funky and big that is just spectacular.”
Milk & Biscuits
This is a non-dairy vanilla frozen dessert with chocolate chip cookies, chocolate sandwich cookies and chocolate cookie swirls.
Creme brulee
This is a dairy free burnt caramel frozen dessert with brown sugar cookies and salted caramel swirls.
Mint Chocolate Cookie
This is a dairy free mint frozen dessert with chocolate sandwich cookies.
The brand’s social media announcement made several people salivate.
“OMG !!!!!! Am I crying !? most excited for the mint chocolate cookie?” One user wrote.
“HOLY COW IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED TO HEAR TODAY ??? Another exclaimed.

The new vegan flavors closely follow the launch of the brand’s Netflix & Chill’d, bringing B&J total non-dairy flavors to 17, which is over 25% of the company’s flavor lineup.
The Vermont-based ice cream innovator is also launching a vegan flavor Cold Brew Coffee Fudge Chip, which features cold-infused ice cream with fudge flakes and a fudge swirl at its spoon stores nationwide.
Embedded in a recent lawsuit, the company withdrew its claim of sourcing milk from “human” suppliers and “happy cows” after being sued for deceptive marketing strategies.
