Growing up, who doesn’t remember having a popsicle or other frozen treat on a hot day? There was something about eating those frozen treats that made the heat more bearable. Why can’t adults have their own version of a boozy, frozen dessert? Adults deserve to have fun, right?

HI-CHEW has teamed up with Allison Kave of Butter & Scotch, Brooklyn’s bar and bakery, to create delicious basted frozen desserts that adults will enjoy. Using the moist and fruity candies, each dessert contains a candy infused liquor. The candy adds both flavor and sweetness to these treats.

Grape chewsicle

Desserts on a stick are always fun. It makes you feel like a kid again. This frozen treat contains HI-CHEW infused Pisco. Pisco is a great spirit to enjoy. The Peruvian spirit, often associated with a Pisco Sour, can be used in any cocktail. The crisp, crisp flavor allows the other ingredients to shine.

This frozen dessert is both sweet and refreshing. Adding lemon juice helps keep the dessert from getting too sweet. While the grape flavor is reminiscent of childhood treats, this dessert is for adults only.

Grape chewsicle
Ingredients
• 2 oz of HI-CHEW grape infused pisco **
• 2 cups of Concord grape juice (chilled)
• 2 ounces of simple syrup
• 1.5 ounces of fresh lemon juice
Method
Combine all ingredients in a pitcher or measuring cup, pour into popsicle molds and freeze until solid, at least 6 hours but preferably overnight. Briefly dip the mussels in hot water to free them from the popsicles. ** INFUSIONS: The brew ratio is one candy per ounce of alcohol. Soak the candies until dissolved.

Kiwi Dreamsicle

Similar to the classic creamsicle, this frozen dessert is both sweet and slightly grassy. By using gin, the dessert is balanced with the sweet cream soda and vanilla ice cream. Even though gin isn’t your favorite alcoholic drink, this combination is quite surprising. A word of warning, take your time to enjoy this treat. It is certainly not a dessert to eat too quickly.

Kiwi Dreamsicle
Ingredients
• 1.5 ounces of HI-CHEW Infused Dry Gin Kiwifruit **
• 2 ounces of cream soda
• Selzer
• 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream
Method
Measure the gin and cream soda in a parfait or pint glass. Fill 2/3 with seltzer water, then garnish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Serve with a spoon and a straw, and garnish with kiwis and HI-CHEW Kiwi candies. ** INFUSIONS: The infusion ratio is one candy per ounce of gin. Soak the candies until dissolved.
